Micah Parsons makes feelings clear on Mike McCarthy as Cowboys HC in 2025 amid hot seat rumors

Micah Parsons has come out in support of Mike McCarthy, with the defender saying that he wants the embattled Cowboys head coach to return in 2025. Dallas is 5-7 this year and still has a chance to finish with a winning record, even though it looks highly improbable that they will be featuring in the playoffs. For a team that won the division last year, this is a spectacular fall from grace.

It has increased speculation that Mike McCarthy might not return to the Cowboys in 2025. He is already in the last year of his contract. However, Micah Parsons wants everyone in Dallas to have a chance of redemption next year, including the players and coaches, because he feels luck has not been on their side. As reported by Todd Archer of ESPN, the defender said,

"I would like a fair shot with everyone back -- players, coaches -- because the injuries kind of struck off what this season could really be. The injuries have been terrible. And, you know, it really sucks. Seeing Zack [Martin], D-Law [DeMarcus Lawrence] not having the year I know he planned to have. He had such a great start. It really sucks."

Micah Parsons then specifically mentioned Mike McCarthy saying that he has always had a good relationship with the head coach but also knows that Jerry Jones will have business considerations that will influence the decision. He continued,

"In terms of coaching, man, Coach Mike, me and his relationship has always been really good. He always took real good care of me. I just don't know how the business side of it's going to go, you know? [Owner and general manager Jerry Jones] has his own mindset about who he wants to coach. This is his team. I'm kind of just, like, a pawn in this business."

Micah Parsons joins Cowboys QB Dak Prescott in supporting Mike McCarthy

Micah Parsons' comments come after Dak Prescott also said that he wants the head coach to come back for 2025. The quarterback said to Jori Epstein of Yahoo Sports,

"I believe in him wholeheartedly. I don't want to necessarily get into the nuts and the screws of it all obviously, but I think he definitely deserves a chance -- another contract and a chance to coach this team amongst more influence. 'On his terms' may be a good way to say it... But I wholeheartedly believe in him."

Jerry Jones now has a decision to make with two of the Cowboys' main players on either side of the ball publicly calling for the head coach to return.
