Micah Parsons makes feelings known on Lamar Jackson after Mark Andrews' massive error ends Ravens' Super Bowl dreams
Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens' 2024 campaign came to a close after their gut-wrenching 27-25 loss to the Buffalo Bills at the Highmark Stadium in the divisional round of the playoffs on Sunday. The loss will be difficult to digest for the Ravens' stars, the team's coaching staff, and the fans given how unstoppable their offense looked for most of the fourth quarter.
In their penultimate drive of the game, it seemed destined that they would score a touchdown and take the lead. However, tight end Mark Andrews fumbled and turned the ball over after a well-timed punch from linebacker Terrel Bernard, which gave the Bills the opportunity to effectively end the game.
However, the Ravens' defense stood tall and limited Josh Allen and Buffalo's offense to a field goal to keep their team's hopes alive. In Baltimore's final drive, they scored a touchdown in under two minutes of game time but needed a two-point conversion to level the score.
They had the perfect play call and had seemingly converted the two-point try, but Andrews inexplicably failed to latch onto Jackson's pass, ending the Ravens' chance to win and advance to the AFC Championship Game.
The tight end's errors wasted Jackson's stellar second-half display and Dallas Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons couldn't help but empathize with the Ravens' quarterback. He wrote:
"Dammm bruh I hate that for Lamar!! Def made some mistakes early but damm he played good enough to win in the second half!!"
Lamar Jackson absolves Mark Andrews for game-defining error
Mark Andrews has gotten the brunt of the blame for the Ravens' failed comeback, but Lamar Jackson doesn't believe the tight end was at fault for the loss. In the post-game press conference, he defended the veteran, saying:
"I'm just as hurt as Mark. I don't [think it's] his fault. Like, all of us played a factor in the game. It's a team effort. Just not gonna put that on Mark, bro, because he's been battling all season. He been doing all the great things he's been doing all season. It don't always go our way. We wanted to but at the wrong time it’s like it's not going our way. We need to figure that out."
The quarterback showcased great maturity with his comments about Andrews' gaffes. However, deep down he's aware that the tight end's mistakes were rookie errors and were the difference between elimination and a place in the AFC Championship Game.
