"NFL medical sucks" - Michael Thomas takes savage dig at medical staff, deletes tweet

New Orleans Saints wide receiver Michael Thomas has gone in on the NFL's medical staff in a since-deleted tweet. The star receiver has had his own injury issues that have seen him play just 10 games over the last three seasons.

With the health and well-being of players being of foremost importance, when a player of Thomas' stature puts out what he did, it forces everyone to take notice. The fact that he took it down shortly after also gives it that extra layer of spice.

The receiver tweeted in response to a former Philadelphia Eagles player Chris Maragos, who won an award of $43.5 million in a medical malpractice lawsuit. He had suffered a career-ending knee injury.

Thomas tweeted:

"Right decision. The NFL medical sucks, cheap and uneducated, their jobs require barely any education or curriculum."
#Saints WR Michael Thomas tweeted and then deleted a couple of tweets saying that the "NFL medical sucks" and are uneducated and cheap.

Adding that their job barely requires any education or curriculum. https://t.co/ACTQ7tTgsM

For a league that is a billion-dollar industry, it is hard to fathom that each team doesn't have the world's best doctors, physiotherapists, etc. to take care of players' needs.

One thing we have seen over the last few weeks, with Maragos' lawsuit and now Thomas' tweets, is that this is indeed the case.

How can that be? So much money is pumped into teams to provide the players with everything they need, except proper medical care it seems.

Michael Thomas has knowledge over medical practices after his injury concerns?

Once a star of the NFL as Drew Brees' favorite target, the receiver barely missed any time due to injury throughout his first four years in the NFL. But in 2020, that changed.

Michael Thomas could only manage seven games in 2020 and then missed the entire 2021 season with a troublesome ankle injury. He played three games in 2022 as his comeback took another giant leap forward.

In his first four seasons, Thomas surpassed 1,000 receiving yards each year while having over 100 receptions in three of them. He also had nine touchdowns in three of the four seasons.

However, injuries have derailed his once-promising career. So, is Thomas' tweet directed at medical personnel at the New Orleans Saints? Given he has had trouble getting on the field lately?

Time will tell, but this doesn't feel over just yet.
