Michigan defensive back DJ Turner posts one of the fastest 40-yard dash times in Combine history

Michigan cornerback DJ Turner is certainly turning heads at the NFL scoutining combine in Indianapolis. The 22-year-old isn't considered to be at the top of the defensive back draft class, but he is slowly making his way up the draft board.

How?

Well, when it came to running the 40-yard dash, which is a measuring stick for NFL hopefuls, Turner was absolutely blistering. He posted an official time of 4.26 seconds. Why is that so impressive?

Putting it simply, Turner ran one of the fastest 40-yard dashes in combine history. That's right, he is one of the fastest ever, ranking fourth all-time.

Receiver John Ross is still the undisputed king as he ran a 4.22 in 2017, but Turner is quick on his heels. Given that a defensive player managed to get so close to the combine record, it's really something.

The cornerback started the last two years for Michigan, and last year he was named as a a second-team All-Big Ten cornerback. While that is decent enough, add in his blazing 40-yard dash time, and NFL scouts will surely take notice of him now.

Given his smaller size (6-foot, 180 pounds), DJ Turner is not the most imposing player at the combine, but his athletic ability is nearly unmatched. Sometimes it takes a wow moment at the combine for NFL teams to take notice.
