“It drives me crazy” – Mike Florio blasts hypocrisy of people criticizing media member in Davante Adams assault charge
Davante Adams has been charged with assault and is currently facing up to 180 days in jail and/or a fine of up to $1,000. The assault was captured via multiple video cameras after the Las Vegas Raiders-Kansas City Chiefs matchup.
Some rival fans are hoping he goes to jail over this, but while speaking on Pro Football Talk, NFL analyst Mike Florio stated his view that the wide receiver would not see jail time.
He also gave an adversarial message to anyone claiming they wouldn't take legal recourse if it happened to them. Here's how he put it:
"All these people out here who are criticizing this guy for filing a police report and for potentially seeking compensation from Davante Adams, they would be the first ones to put on a neck collar and show up the next day saying 'I want mine' if it happened to them."
He continued, claiming that those same people's opinions change once it becomes their problem:
"It always drives me crazy. The same people who rant and rave about lawyers. 'I hate lawyers. I hate lawyers. I hate lawyers until I need one'. Then 'I love my lawyer.'"
The motivation behind Davante Adams' assault
Taking to Twitter, Davante Adams apologized to the media member he pushed, claiming he was frustrated by the end of the game. (The apology has since been deleted).
While many fans are taking the apology at face value, others are speculating that the source of the frustration is more than just the ending of the game.
The team was 1-3 going into the game and now, at 1-4, the playoffs might be out of question. The team originally started 0-3 before defeating the Denver Broncos.
Upon getting their first win, fans thought that perhaps the Raiders were out of the woods. Instead, they fell to 1-4 after holding a 17-point lead in the game.
As such, the wide receiver finally released his anger on the first thing that (literally) ran into his path.
