Mina Kimes floats Matthew Stafford to Raiders with injuries mounting for Rams

Mina Kimes has floated a possible trade for Matthew Stafford to join Davante Adams with the Raiders based on the state of the offensive linemen available for the Rams. The Los Angeles team are 0-2 this season and need to recover from a brutal Week 2 loss against the Arizona Cardinals.

One of the problems the ESPN analyst highlighted is that the interior of the offensive line is soft and that is causing Matthew Stafford problems. She said,

"I think that there needs to be a little bit of an evaluation period with regards to some of these offensive linemen coming back. Havenstein's coming back from the injury. You're going to get your starting left tackle back, Johnson, who was suspended the first two games. But the interior of that offensive line being so damaged."

Then she added that if the Rams decide to move on from their current quarterback as they go into a rebuilding phase, another ready-to-win team could benefit from the last few years of Matthew Stafford. She mentioned the Raiders as a prospective team since they lack an elite quarterback to complement tight ends like Brock Bowers and wide receivers like Davante Adams. Highlighting that Las Vegas' defense is not to shabby either, Mina Kimes said,

"If they make that decision, then it's about what teams we’re talking about. I want to pitch one to you guys—the Raiders. Watching the first two weeks, that is a very good defense. Davante Adams is still one of the best wide receivers in the NFL. Bowers looks like a dude. Imagine Matthew—I'm just throwing it out there."

Rams allowing Matthew Stafford to unite with Davante Adams will give former Raiders QB a fresh chance

If the above situation comes to pass, then Jimmy Garoppolo could also find a new lease of life. He is the current backup for the Los Angeles Rams and is scarred from his Raiders experience. If Matthew Stafford is indeed brought in to salvage the trainwreck that his understudy left behind in Las Vegas, it could allow the former 49ers star to re-establish himself as a starting quarterback.

Sean McVay has experience working with and fixing such quarterbacks, having already done so with Baker Mayfield, who has now gone on to become the starting quarterback for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. If Mina Kimes' proposed trade does take place, Davante Adams might not be the only winner in such circumstances.
