NFL analyst believes blueprint to “rattle” Aaron Rodgers is out “courtesy of the Denver Broncos"
Aaron Rodgers suffered perhaps his most frustrating defeat in years against the Denver Broncos. Packers fans will agree that in most of his losses in his career, the defense has been to blame. However, despite holding the Broncos to just 10 points on Sunday in New York, Rodgers failed to get it done despite a mid-field possession needing just a field goal.
Speaking on a mid-week edition of "Pro Football Talk," NFL analyst Mike Florio claimed the Broncos unlocked a clear-cut method to lock down the quarterback. He also expected the Minnesota Vikings to employ a similar strategy on Sunday. Florio said (1:57):
"He's 40. He got banged around on Sunday by the Broncos defense, and he's going to face a defense in London on Sunday that is very unpredictable, that sends blitzes when you proving the meaning of the word unpredictable when you don't expect it.
"We're starting to get maybe a blueprint, courtesy of the Broncos, how to rattle him, how to take away the things he likes to do."
In the loss against the Denver Broncos, Rodgers completed 24 of 42 passes for 225 yards and zero touchdowns with zero interceptions. Rain was a factor in the game, but those who watched the performance didn't quite see a slush, water-logged event like some NFL games have been in the past.
Aaron Rodgers travels to London for second career international game
The Jets quarterback is 40 years old, but Aaron Rodgers still is relatively new to playing NFL games overseas. According to the BBC, Rodgers is set to play only his second career international game. His first international game didn't come until 2022, the final year of his tenure with the Green Bay Packers.
This week, he faces Sam Darnold in what is set to be an opportunity for revenge for the Vikings quarterback. Darnold spent his first three years with the Jets from 2018-2020. While he has every reason to appreciate the Jets letting him into the league, the quarterback also has every reason to use Rodgers' team as proof that they were the issue in the first place.
Meanwhile, Aaron Rodgers will face a familiar foe. Rodgers played against the Vikings twice per year in most seasons that he spent with the Green Bay Packers from 2008 until 2022. Will a familiar foe make him feel at home on the other side of the Atlantic?
