NFL analyst claims Bill Belichick doing 'too much' is ruining his head coach chances

Bill Belichick built a legacy of a winner. While he failed to line up a job early this year to remain an NFL head coach, he has had no trouble snatching up media work. One NFL analyst wondered if he has done too much in the realm already.

Speaking on a September 12 edition of "Pro Football Talk," analyst Mike Florio cautioned that Belichick has changed the perception too much.

"I think he's doing too much. I think the goal is to lay the foundation to have a fan base want him next year, when it be 73 and we saw what happened this year, seven non-patriots openings, one interview, no offer. There was some reporting on Sunday that he's going to be choosy. I don't know he's gonna have the choice to be choosy," Florio said (0:15).

If he dives too deep into the media world, he risks putting on the appearance that he is more interested in media than in coaching football games.

Once teams begin to question how invested he would be in their team, the opportunities may dry up. That's the danger of trying to juggle multiple careers at once. If done effectively, it can help keep oneself engaged for a long period of time. However, there are the aforementioned risks.

Tom Brady's former head coach has many gigs in the media at the time of writing.

According to Vanity Fair, Belichick has a contract with ESPN to make appearances on the Pat McAfee Show as well as working on a show with Peyton Manning titled "The Breakdown."

Additionally, Bill Belichick will work on a show for Underdog Fantasy on YouTube. However, that isn't all he will be doing. In addition to these shows, he will be appearing on the "Let's Go!" podcast and "Inside the NFL" on the CW. Put simply, Belichick's weeks appear to be plenty full going forward.

Before landing these jobs, Belichick was in talks to join the Atlanta Falcons as the team's newest head coach. Instead, the team went with Raheem Morris, who is now 0-1. With so many jobs assigned to talk about football, Bill Belichick will have a front-row seat to comment on the football team that denied him.

Bill Belichick also will have plenty of opportunities to comment on the other 31 teams, including the New England Patriots, as they pursue their first Super Bowl without Brady and Belichick.
