NFL analyst claims Chiefs need to consider bulking up for 2023 after winning Super Bowl
The Kansas City Chiefs won the Super Bowl barely more than a week ago, but the pressure is already back on the team to prepare for 2023. One NFL analyst has pressured the team to make itself better.
Speaking on the Herd with Colin Cowherd, NFL analyst Nick Wright explained that the team should consider adding another "significant piece." Here's how he put it:
"If you're the Chiefs, you don't want to put all of your future resources into this year. But [they] wanted to trade their first-round pick for an impact player at this moment, [they] wanted to overpay slightly in free agency for one super high impact guy, [they] would get it."

He continued, explaining that the team has already proven themselves over everyone else, but there's still work to be done:
"[They] obviously are already over the top. They're sitting at the top looking down on the rest of the league. But still, they could maybe add one significant piece."
Patrick Mahomes and Kansas City Chiefs reverse fortunes after losing Tyreek Hill
Heading into the season, the Chiefs were painted by many pundits as a team on the precipice of returning to mortality. After multiple years of seasons getting cut shorter and shorter by losing sooner in the playoffs, many expected the loss of Tyreek Hill to put the team on a steep decline.
However, at the end of the 2022 season, it has now been proven that it may have been a case of addition by subtraction. Without Hill, Mahomes threw for the second-most touchdowns of his career.
Despite getting knicked alongside seemingly the rest of the offense, the team overcame a ten-point deficit against Jalen Hurts in Super Bowl LVII.
Mahomes defeated Joe Burrow, who had already beaten him earlier that season and in the AFC Championship game in 2021. However, now at the top of the food chain once again, the Chiefs will hope to do what they failed to do in 2020.
