NFL analyst claims new Chiefs receiver is “faster than Tyreek Hill”

Tyreek Hill hasn't been on the Kansas City Chiefs roster for two seasons and is entering his third with the Miami Dolphins. The Chiefs have attempted to replace the superstar wide receiver but haven't quite found a solution. However, this season's new rookie might be different.

Speaking on an August 6 edition of "Get Up," NFL analyst Mike Greenberg claimed that rookie Xavier Worthy is faster than Hill. Here's how he put it:

Mike Greenberg [00:00:43]: "The rookie you're talking about right there is Xavier Worthy. And he ran the fastest [40-yard dash] in the history of the NFL Combine. So they literally added a weapon that is faster than Tyreek Hill. Doesn't mean he's better than Tyreek Hill but he's faster than Tyreek Hill," he said.

At times, analysts will break down receivers into two different categories: speedsters who struggle to catch passes and those with excellent reception skills with limited speed.

Worthy has the speed, but does he have the hands? Generally speaking, speedy who receivers lack the ability to catch reliably also have trouble with boxing out defenders in one-on-one situations. The Chiefs will be looking for Worthy to prove he has both the hands and speed to become and elite receiver.

It might take some teams the entire 2024 regular season to learn the final order of their wide receiver rooms. The Patriots and Steelers have WR depth charts littered with open spots to fill. However, the Chiefs are in the same category, with a multitude of questions at wide receiver.

The Chiefs have off-the-field legal issues that could impact their depth chart during the season. Rashee Rice continues to face multiple felonies that could pluck him out of the lineup, seemingly at any time.

If Rice, the team's top receiver, gets removed from the equation, it leaves Marquise Brown and Xavier Worthy to vie for the top spot.

Simply put, the Chiefs seem to have limited options at WR heading into the 2024 season.
