NFL analyst claims Tom Brady would have won as many Super Bowls as Aaron Rodgers without Bill Belichick

Bill Belichick has had better weeks in the media. The Patriots head coach was vilified earlier this week in regards to mentioning his accomplishments over the last 25 years.

He has since walked back the statement, but already caused a stir from pundits, who once again talked about the quarterback versus coach debate.

At this point, most fans and pundits point to the Super Bowl that Tom Brady won since leaving the Patriots compared to Bill Belichick's accomplishments.

No. 12 is often declared the winner as a result. However, speaking on Get Up, NFL analyst Mike Greenberg claimed that the coach's presence was responsible for five Lombardis.

He said No. 12 would have won one, which is the same number of Super Bowl victories that Aaron Rodgers boasts. Here's how he put it:

"Michael Jordan probably would have won a championship without Phil Jackson, but he wouldn't have won six. And I'll say the same thing about Brady. Brady probably would have won a title with another coach."

Will Bill Belichick win a playoff game in 2023?

He continued, calling the head coach one of the best to ever do it and said:

"In fact, we know that he did. But the fact that they won six is is absolute proof that Belichick is one of, if not the greatest coach of all time."

The last time the New England Patriots won a playoff game, Rams head coach Sean McVay was left stunned in disbelief as the coach and quarterback celebrated getting a Lombardi trophy. However, since then, the head coach has failed to end an opponent's season after Week 17 or Week 18.

The No. 12 stuck around for one more season and then skipped town for redder pastures with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. In his wake, the head coach was left to pick up the pieces.

An experiment with Cam Newton went down in flames by local standards and the first expensive swing at quarterback flashed for a moment, but also ultimately failed to win a playoff game.

Patriots owner Robert Kraft said Meek Mill texted him three or four days ago saying Lamar Jackson wanted to come to New England. Kraft responded that would be Bill Belichick’s decision.

After 2022 saw the quarterback get arguably benched, it appears Mac Jones will get one more shot. Will the Patriots go five years without winning a playoff game?
