NFL analyst dubs Joe Burrow’s blonde look “Amber Rose” in hilarious comparison

Joe Burrow is back in training camp, but he appears to be a completely different person from who he was before. On Tuesday, the Cincinnati Bengals quarterback shocked fans by revealing an all-new blonde hairdo that has drawn comparisons to rapper Eminem (when he portrayed Slim Shady) and WWE Superstar Cody Rhodes (in his present American Nightmare era).

However, ESPN's Kimberley Martin has another person in mind. Speaking on Thursday's episode of First Take, she said:

“He said he did it because he was bored. Never have I ever sat at home bored and thought, ‘You know what I’m going to do? Turn myself into Amber Rose.'”

Amber Rose is a television personality/model/actress who is known for her bleached blonde buzzcut hairstyle. In an interview with Refinery29 in 2016, Rose said Irish singer Sinead O'Connor and rapper Eve were her inspirations for cutting her hair short.

New-look Joe Burrow focusing on "continued improvement" as Bengals look to revisit playoffs

The hair is not the only new thing Joe Burrow has in 2024. There is also a new offensive situation awaiting him.

His old coordinator Brian Callahan and tertiary wideout Tyler Boyd have left for the Tennessee Titans. Meanwhile, primary running back Joe Mixon was traded to the Houston Texans.

Assuming their respective places are erstwhile-quarterbacks coach Dan Pitcher, pass-catching tight end Mike Gesicki, and former Buffalo Bills and Indianapolis Colts running back Zack Moss. The offensive line has also been bolstered with the addition of tackles Trent Brown (free agency) and Amarius Mims (Draft).

Burrow hopes those changes will help to facilitate his development as a competitor, even as he remains one of the league's best quarterbacks. Speaking to the press at Wednesday's camp, he said: (Start at 11:44)

"I have been, can continue to improve year-to-year, day-to-day; and I think that's how you have to approach it. I'm focused on continued improvement, and I'm really happy with the offseason that I had. I'm really happy to have this training camp to continue to hone my skills and improve and build this team chemistry for this run we're about to go on."

Now entering his fifth year in the league, he believes he has passed the feeling-out process of his career: (Start at 12:50)

"Now you kind of enter that, 'Whatever it takes to get the job done.' And that's kind of always been the mindset, but you definitely think about different things early in your career than you do now, I would say. And I would say that team-oriented goals are the only thing that I'm worried about at this point."

The Bengals begin their preseason against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on August 10. They begin the regular season against the New England Patriots on September 8.
