NFL analyst foresees potential issue when Tom Brady kicks off $375,000,000 career during Cowboys vs Browns

Tom Brady once again is getting ready for Week 1. Of course, he isn't studying playbooks, but he likely is watching tape. While he is familiar with some aspects of the media and commentary game already, one thing he'll be learning for the first time is that his words will have more weight than they ever have.

After spending most of his career on mute on television, Brady's every whim during a three-and-a-half-hour football game will be broadcast to millions live roughly 20 weeks per year for the next 10 years. With that comes the potential for massive fallout. Of course, that's what happens when one is paid $375 million by FOX, per the New York Post.

Speaking on Tuesday's edition of "SI Media with Jimmy Traina," analyst Jimmy Traina predicted Brady's commentary to spawn articles in a way unseen in the NFL world.

“In this day and age of aggregation, Fox PR and management will have an interesting battle on their hands," Traina said. "Because every single thing he says is going to be aggregated. When aggregation happens, context is lost.
“The answer is to just ignore it but I wonder if that’s going to become an issue too. Because the first time he’s going to call out somebody, it’s going to blow up.”

For the uninitiated in media speak, news aggregation is when one source uses another and puts its own spin on it. It is one of the main avenues for sports media but also social media in general. With Tom Brady working as a major topic covered across most NFL media platforms, he could become scrutinized in a way even he has not been before.

Will he deliver under pressure once again? Tom Brady's debut game will happen on Sunday, Sept. 7, when the Dallas Cowboys take on the Cleveland Browns at 4:25 p.m. ET.

Many people will be tuning in to strictly listen to Brady's commentary debut, but it isn't the only reason to tune in. The opponents are loaded with storylines as well.

For the Cowboys, the team will be down CeeDee Lamb, who is out for the first two weeks following his massive new deal.

As such, Dak Prescott will need to find a way to win without his number one receiver, leaning on Brandin Cooks, who has struggled to hit the 1,000-yard mark in recent years. It will also be the reopening of the Ezekiel Elliott-Dak Prescott duo.

As for the Browns, the franchise is facing a make-or-break moment this season. After two years of failing to see the expensive Deshaun Watson acquisition pay off, the pressure is on. With an 0-1 start, the pressure will be ear-poppingly huge on Watson to deliver on his end of the bargain.
