NFL analyst makes bold claim about Chiefs' three-peat dreams ahead of AFC title clash
The Kansas City Chiefs do not need any extra motivation, but it appears the media may have given them some anyway. There has been some public discourse surrounding the team as prominent media personalities have been talking about how the Kansas City Chiefs have been getting calls from the NFL officials during games.
Sports Illustrated NFL Staff Writer Matt Verderame posted about how the Kansas City Chiefs have received extra motivation as legitimate media voices are criticizing them for the perceived notion of them getting calls from the officials.
Verderame posted on X on Sunday:
"If the Chiefs win today, they’re going to be beyond insufferable in the postgame and rightfully so," he said. "Having legitimate media voices claiming their success is being handed to them is insane. If the three-peat wasn’t enough motivation… boy, they have it now."
A lot of the discourse just a few hours before the AFC championship game between the Buffalo Bills and the Kansas City Chiefs is the fact that ESPN's Adam Schefter has been discussing it with some posts on social media. He framed an article about the NFL potentially expanding replay assist in the offseason and posted about the penalties between the Chiefs and their opponents during the last three postseasons.
The Kansas City Chiefs are looking to win this game and advance to their third consecutive Super Bowl. Now, they can view it as an us vs. them situation to get that extra motivation.
What are the odds for the AFC championship game right now?
With a little under eight hours before kickoff, the odds continue to move for the Buffalo Bills vs. Kansas City Chiefs game. While the moneyline has not moved much throughout the week, sitting with the Bills at +110 to win while the Chiefs are -130, the spread has been moving around without crossing any key numbers
According to ESPN Bet, the Kansas City Chiefs are two-point favorites at home. This number opened with the Chiefs favored by a single point before jumping to 2.5 points as late as Saturday night. However, a bit of money has dropped the number to the Chiefs laying two points right now.
When looking at Sports Betting Dime, 75% of the bets and 76% of all the money for the spread bets have been for the Buffalo Bills. However, for the moneyline, the amount of money bet is drawing even ahead of the AFC championship. There is a lot on the line for both teams and this is expected to be a massive duel between two of the best quarterbacks in the NFL.
