NFL analyst paints very different picture of Aaron Rodgers despite Jets QB’s choice to skip OTAs for Egypt trip

Aaron Rodgers' personality has been as much of a talking point as any aspect of the quarterback's game. Many fans and analysts have called him out over his personal choices and the way he runs his life. However, speaking on an October 11 episode of "Get Up," NFL analyst and former Jets LB Bart Scott claimed the quarterback was very different in person.

13:59 Bart Scott "I've interviewed Aaron Rodgers. Nobody loves ball like Rodgers, I thought like he's playing because he loves football and he loves the preparation. Listen, he is not a selfish guy," he said.
"When it comes to football his team, he's not concerned with how many yards he throws for. He came to the Jets for one reason, so he can cement his legacy. And the only way he can cement his legacy is by winning a championship," he added in Get Up.

Of course, the quarterback this season has seen plenty of ire from fans and analysts over what many would call a selfish decision. Instead of making sure he was in New York and present at OTAs earlier this year, Rodgers missed part of the practice calendar to take a trip to Egypt.

With the New York Jets now 2-3, some analysts and fans have circled back to the missed practices as a potential partial explanation.

Aaron Rodgers hopes to win on Monday Night Football for several reasons that many already know related to Robert Saleh. With Saleh gone, owner Woody Johnson's 'Eye of Sauron' is locked directly on the team in this game, and winning in a big way could ease the tension.

However, winning the upcoming showdown against the Buffalo Bills also builds an in-division win streak for the first time in Rodgers' time with the Jets. Last year, he faced the Bills in the Week 1 start that Zach Wilson ultimately won. As the quarterback who started the game, he statistically gets credit for the win.

If he can 'beat' the Bills again, he will be 2-0 over Josh Allen, giving himself bragging rights and a big win on his resume. Of course, considering the situation with the Jets' several moving pieces and increased pressure, the win may not come easily. Can Rodgers pull it off?
