NFL analyst puts Jordan Love on MVP watch

Jordan Love showed plenty of flash in his first starting season with the Green Bay Packers. While some are hesitant to go all-in on the quarterback in 2024, one analyst has handed out one of the highest projections yet.

On the Thursday morning episode of "Get Up," analyst Damien Woody put Love's name in the MVP conversation.

"Love, to me, is like my sneaky MVP this year," Woody said. "We saw him playing last year. He was one of the best quarterbacks in the league in the second half of the season. He got this tremendous young core of skill guys. Let them grow up together." [00:00:57].

Of course, placing Jordan Love at the top of the pecking order is massively different from backing him in 2024. To be an MVP finalist, the quarterback will need to be better than at least 27 of the 31 other quarterbacks.

Love started the 2023 season slow, winning just two of his first seven games. Many losses came in the fourth quarter, when all of the pressure landed on the quarterback. While he was able to flip the script in the second half of the year, one wonders whether he can iron those out completely in 2024.

Jordan Love chases NFC's first MVP since Aaron Rodgers

A Packers quarterback earning an MVP would be nothing new. Since 2010, the franchise has had four MVPs. Of course, all four of those belong to Aaron Rodgers, per Pro Football Reference.

Moreover, the most recent MVP in the league to come from the NFC's half of the NFL is also Rodgers. If Love were to win the MVP this year, he would be the first Packers quarterback to earn the honor since Rodgers did in 2021.

Heading into the Jordan Love years, many fans expect Aaron Rodgers to be the last Green Bay Packers QB to win the MVP award. Instead, if Woody's prediction comes true, the team will enter another similar chapter.
