NFL analyst doesn't rule out Deion Sanders and Shedeur pushing Aaron Rodgers out of the door in New York
Could Deion Sanders follow his son Shedeur Sanders to the NFL next season? Many people in the football world think so.
Shedeur, who is in his fourth collegiate season and second as Colorado's quarterback, is one of the top 2025 quarterback prospects. He is expected to be picked in the top 10 of this year's draft.
With many teams expected to target and draft a quarterback in next year's draft, some analysts have pegged Deion to pair up with his son Shedeur if such a situation were to arise.
On "Get Up," analysts Adam Schefter and Dan Orlovsky spoke about potential teams such as the New York Jets that could draft Shedeur and sign Deion as their next coach.
"Every single team in the top-10 ... Could you see Shedeur and Deion with the Jets?"
Of course, if this happened, the Jets would have to move on from quarterback Aaron Rodgers, whom they acquired from the Green Bay Packers last off-season via trade.
Rodgers missed all of last season and is struggling with the Jets this season. The Jets fired head coach Robert Saleh after a 2-3 start to their campaign. So, the head coaching vacancy is still there.
Deion Sanders said he will privately step in to prevent the wrong team from drafting Shedeur Sanders
Deion Sanders has publicly stated multiple times that he will get involved in making sure his son Shedeur and two-way star Travis Hunter get drafted to the right team.
Deion Sanders stood firm on his stance recently, joining FS1's "Speak." He told Keyshawn Johnson and Michael Irvin that he would get involved in where Shedeur and Travis land.
"Yeah, but I'm not going to do it publicly. With Travis as well ... Somebody that can handle the quarterback that he is. Somebody that can handle understanding what he is capable of. Someone that has had success in the past handling quarterbacks, or someone in that organization understanding what they are doing. Not just throwing you out there amongst the wolves.
"I want somebody to be able to propel him to the next level as well. Not just get drafted, (but) to get drafted by a team because we ain't having it."
There are a number of teams that could have head coaching and quarterback vacancies next season. The New York Giants, New York Jets and the Las Vegas are a few such teams.
Where do you think Shedeur Sanders will land, and do you think he will be coached by his father, Deion?
