NFL analyst slams Aaron Rodgers for hypocrisy in QB's frequent appearances on ‘The Pat McAfee Show’
Former NFL player turned analyst Domonique Foxworth called out Aaron Rodgers over his comments on "The Pat McAfee Show." On Wednesday's episode of "Get Up," Foxworth sent a strong message to the New York Jets quarterback, urging him to stop talking and start throwing better passes to his teammates.
Rodgers made an appearance on McAfee's show on Tuesday and he said that the Jets were playing with little joy and a lot of anger, which is the opposite of what should be happening. Foxworth took issue with those remarks and called out the quarterback.
"Man, throw some touchdowns. I get it, it's a leadership thing and maybe it works for them in the locker room. But my guess is they're in the locker room like, don't throw it to the guys in the other colored jerseys and throw some touchdowns. I don't wanna hear this, and I get it, every week on McAfee, that’s fine, that’s just your thing.”
Aaron Rodgers posted decent numbers in the first seven weeks of competition, throwing for 1,663 yards, 10 touchdowns and seven interceptions, which is a lot in comparison to his touchdown passes. The Jets have dropped four consecutive games after starting the season 2-1 after wins over the Titans and Patriots.
Robert Saleh was fired, Davante Adams landed from Las Vegas and even offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett was demoted from his playcalling duties, but the situation hasn't changed.
Aaron Rodgers limited in practice due to several health issues
Aaron Rodgers and the Jets will face the New England Patriots again this weekend, hoping to get the third win of the season. That said, the week hasn't had the best start, as he was announced as a limited participant for Wednesday's practice after dealing with hamstring, knee and ankle injuries.
This doesn't mean he won't be available for the Patriots game, but this situation could get worse if he keeps getting punished by opposing defenses. The Jets haven't surpassed the 20-point barrier since that win against the Pats, so this game could be a major chance to bounce back.
Davante Adams will have another week with to gel the team and the struggling Pats, who were called "soft" by Jerod Mayo, aren't the best squad in the division, let alone the conference.
