NFL analyst takes notice of Tyreek Hill’s 'uncharacteristic' decline in leadup to Thanksgiving showdown against Jordan Love

Tyreek Hill and Jordan Love are set to battle on today's Thanksgiving edition of Sunday Night Football. However, both players are not playing at a level as high as they did last season. With the entire country watching, many will catch up to what one analyst already knows going in.

Speaking on Thursday's episode of "Get Up," NFL analyst Harry Douglas took note of Hill's "uncharacteristic" troubles this season.

"He's only gone over 100 yards in a game once this season," Douglas said (06:34). "That's uncharacteristic for a player of his caliber. I do believe he's going to see a little bit more man coverage versus the Green Bay Packers secondary."

There is a litany of reasons explaining the drop in production, including Tua Tagovailoa missing time due to a concussion and the veteran wide receiver playing through a foot and wrist injury.

Hill is also on the wrong side of 30, which is the typical drop-off line in the NFL. As Douglas noted, Hill has earned just one 100-yard game this season, which happened on Sept. 8 against the Jacksonville Jaguars. He also has scored just three receiving touchdowns.

The Miami Dolphins' signature receiver has seen the top of the statistical Mount Everest but is now on pace to start his path down the backside. According to a projection by Pro Football Reference, Hill is on track to potentially finish under 1,000 yards for the first time since 2019.

Tyreek Hill did see a slight dropoff in yardage from 2020-2021, but the drop was a measly 37 yards. However, this could be the first multi-hundred dropoff since he earned 1,479 yards in 2018 and slipped to 860 in 2019. Hill was injured in that season as well.

However, Tua Tagovailoa's top receiver's age now has to be considered as a factor. Has "The Cheetah" hit his peak?
