NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell 'welcomes' Taylor Swift, Travis Kelce's relationship impact

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's relationship has been a hot topic for over a year. It started with Kelce attending Swift's concerts before the pop sensation became a common fixture at NFL games.

In fact, Swift's presence at Kansas City Chiefs games has brought forth equal amounts of cheers and trolls. Fans have been vocal, some like the media coverage, while others aren't happy with it.

However, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell is all for hyping Swift's positive impact on the NFL and the image of football in general. While on "The TODAY Show," Goodell was asked about Swift, and how he feels about her bringing in parts of her fandom to football.

"I think the great thing about their relationship is it's created a new relationship with football. You know, any people that can come into our game and enjoy it, experience it? I think it has an impact on them, and it brings them in. So we welcome that."

Goodell went on to describe their "great" relationship, and how his focus is to make NFL games available for many people.

"Obviously, they have a great relationship. They're very happy, and we hope that continues, but that's you know for us, we just want to make sure our games available to as many people as possible."

Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift's relationship has earned Chiefs, NFL over $330M brand value

When Swift first confirmed her relationship with Travis Kelce, she also brought her dedicated fans with her. Many Swifties took a new interest in football by supporting the Kansas City Chiefs and watching NFL games.

According to a post by Front Office Sports on X, Swift's impact generated an equivalent of $331.5 million in brand value for the NFL and the Chiefs.

The figure, as per the report, is generated from print, digital, social media and TV. Swift attended her first game as a Chiefs fan back in September 2023.

That being said, Goodell himself had acknowledged Swift's impact back in February. While on "The Pat McAfee Show," he said:

"Anybody who's interested in the NFL, that's good for me and good for everybody involved with the NFL.

With the 2024 NFL season just beginning, fans can certainly expect more appearances from Swift.
