NFL legend Terrell Owens shares his take on Donald Trump winning election

NFL legend and Hall of Famer Terrell Owens expressed his disappointment following Donald Trump's victory in the 2024 Presidential election, where Trump defeated Kamala Harris in a landslide to secure his second term.

After Trump's win was confirmed, Owens took to X to share his disappointment.

"I’m Sad. Disappointed. Hurt. In Disbelief. BUT, it is what it is at this point. For those that feel the same way, we have to remain united, faithful, committed and make lemonade out of lemons," Owens wrote.

This is not the first time Terrell Owens has been critical of Donald Trump.

In 2018, after the Philadelphia Eagles won the Super Bowl, the team was uninvited to the White House by Trump over the controversial national anthem protests.

However, Owens said the Eagles already didn't want to go to the White House, so Trump can't uninvite someone who doesn't want to go there.

“I’m sure it wasn’t him uninviting the Eagles. I’m sure they didn’t want to go,” Owens told TMZ, via The Hill. “How does he uninvite people that didn’t want to go? Come on Donald, let’s keep it real.”

The White House, however, said the Eagles had offered to “send only a tiny handful of representatives” to the celebration.

"The great majority of players would not attend the event, despite planning to be in D.C. In other words, the vast majority of the Eagles team decided to abandon their fans,” the White House said.

Ultimately, with Trump back in office, it will be interesting to see if NFL teams will continue to attend the White House.

Owens played 15 years in the NFL with the San Francisco 49ers, Philadelphia Eagles, Dallas Cowboys, Buffalo Bills, and Cincinnati Bengals. Owens is a five-time First-Team All-Pro and a six-time Pro Bowler.
