How many yards did Patrick Mahomes throw today?

Patrick Mahomes' 328 passing yards today against the Broncos saw him break another record. He joined Drew Brees and Tom Brady on the exclusive list of quarterbacks to throw for 5,000 passing yards in a season at least twice in their careers.

Drew Brees turns 41 today.

Undoubtedly one of the greatest to ever do it.

Brees did it five times in his incredible career (2008, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2016), while Brady has achieved that feat twice (2011, 2021). The Tampa Bay Buccaneers took 21 seasons to reach the milestone, and Brees clocked 5,000 passing yards in a season for the second time during his career in his 11th campaign. Mahomes has managed to join the list in only his sixth NFL season, almost halving the previous quickest mark.

With only one game left in Week 17, Mahomes leads the way in the passing yards department with 5,048. Brady, who has had a relatively rough year with the Buccaneers, led them to a 30-24 win over the Carolina Panthers and the NFC South division title on Sunday. The seven-time Super Bowl champion threw for 423 yards and three touchdowns and climbed to second on the list of passing yards leaders in 2022 with 4,610 yards.

Justin Herbert, who was second on the list entering Week 18, had a good day at home as he led the Los Angeles Chargers to a 31-10 win over the Los Angeles Rams. He finished the game with 212 passing yards, which relegated him to third on the list.

Kirk Cousins (4,322 passing yards) and Joe Burrow (4,260 passing yards), who will be in action against Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills on Monday Night Football, round off the top five.
