NFL Rumors: Odell Beckham Jr's contract demands go down a peg amid interest from Lamar Jackson's Ravens

Free agent wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. is looking to make a return to the football field this season.

The star free agent wideout missed the entire 2022-23 season due to a torn ACL that he was recovering from that occurred in the Super Bowl LVI.

While OBJ will join a new team this offseason, his original asking price, via ProFootballTalk, was $20 million per season.

As a few weeks have passed in free agency, NFL insider Albert Breer reported that his asking price is now down to $15 million.

Breer said:

"Noah, word before his appearance at the Arizona Biltmore on Tuesday was that Odell Beckham Jr. was looking for something in the neighborhood of $15 million per year. That’s down from where he was previously, so I do think there’s room for negotiation here, and I do think showing up at the hotel where the owners’ meetings were taking place was a savvy move from a business standpoint."
Update: As early as this week, free-agent WR Odell Beckham has still been seeking a contract that would pay him about $15 million per year, per @AlbertBreer

And that is actually down from what he previously wanted, which was reportedly $20 million a year

Despite missing all of last season due to his ACL recovery, Beckham privately worked out in front of 11 teams in Arizona recently, with many of them expressing interest in him.

Teams represented at Odell Beckham Jr.'s private workout in Arizona today included the Panthers, Giants, Patriots, Rams, Cardinals, 49ers, Bills, Chiefs, Vikings, Browns and Ravens, per source.

Beckham Jr.'s most recent visit was in Baltimore with the Ravens on Tuesday.

Josina Anderson reported that OBJ had a good meeting with the team.

Obj on meeting with #Ravens & connecting with other teams: “The love was there, good meeting…(Lot of) people and teams I bumped into.”

Eventually the free agent WR will become a big addition to a new team.

Odell Beckham Jr. likely won't get a contract worth more than $15 million per year

There might be a reason why Odell Beckham Jr. hasn't signed with a team yet.

Beckham Jr. was originally seeking a contract north of $20 million per year. As of right now, 14 wide receivers earn $20 million per year or more.

While Beckham Jr. is a very talented wideout, he isn't quite what he used to be and teams might not think he's worth that much money.

He will be turning 31 midway through the season and health is a concern for the aging wide receiver. According to draftsharks.com, he's suffered 17 injuries throughout his NFL career.

He's torn his ACL on two separate occasions, including in 2022, which is the injury he's recovering from.

Injuries aside, there may be a little rust when he returns to the field as he missed all of last season.

Do you think Odell Beckham Jr. is worth $20 million a year?
