NFL Rumors: Raiders among teams Tom Brady 'would consider' joining in 2023
Tom Brady has made it clear that he is still completely unsure about what his future holds. Whether he decides to return to the game he has played for 23 NFL seasons or retires for good, this time all options are on the table.
If the 45-year-old quarterback does decide to continue playing, he will be an unrestricted free agent and will be able to choose which team he decides to sign with. Apparently, there are a few teams that are already preparing their case to convince the quarterback.
ESPN's senior NFL reporter Jeremy Fowler reported on Tuesday that the Las Vegas Raiders still believe that they can convince Tom Brady to sign with their team. Of course, that would be if he does return to the gridiron in 2023.
The Raiders are in need of a quarterback as Derek Carr will officially be moving on from the team this offseason. This would leave Las Vegas most likely looking for a veteran quarterback.
It would also reunite Brady with his former offensive coordinator from the New England Patriots, Josh McDaniels, who is now the head coach in Las Vegas.
Fowler also believes that there are three teams that would be interested in signing Tom Brady. And that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, whom he spent the last three seasons with, may not be completely out of the conversation either.
The third team that may also be in the mix is unknown at this time, but it could be the San Francisco 49ers, his hometown team, or even the Tennessee Titans who have shown interest.
What did Rob Gronkowski say about Tom Brady's future?
While appearing on FOX's pregame show this past weekend, former NFL tight end Rob Gronkowski said that he doesn't believe that Tom Brady is done playing in the NFL yet.
He said that he knows Brady hasn't made his decision yet but he probably knows the mindset that the quarterback has heading into free agency.
“I don’t even think Tom knows what his future holds right now.... But let me tell you, it’s gonna be whatever situation intrigues him the most. Whatever opportunity that makes him the most excited to play the game of football, that’s where he will be next year.”
Gronkowski said that he believes the quarterback will look at all of the possible options. Whichever gives him the most excitement and the best opportunity to win, will be the team that Tom Brady will decide to sign with.
