NFL star admits he was fooled by infamous social media influencer Liver King over steroid use

NFL players are always looking for new and innovative ways to train and maintain a wellness program that will allow them to continue playing at a high level. Baltimore Ravens cornerback Marlon Humphrey admitted last week that he fell for TikTok star 'Liver King', whose real name is Brian Johnson.

The Liver King, who made his videos while shirtless, showed off his well-toned abs and biceps. He convinced his followers to eat an "ancestral diet' consisting of raw meat.

The TikTok influencer, who has over two million followers on the social media platform, recently released a new video that showed him confess to wrongdoing.

Johnson said that it wasn't the excessive exercise and raw meat diet that had him so well-toned, but steroids. He said that he had taken steroids in the past and still does today.

The controversial social media user stated that he had deceived his millions of followers with a controversial diet. While many admitted that they fell for the Liver King's diet plan, it was Marlon Humphrey's admission that had many surprised.

Humphrey tweeted that he couldn't sit this conversation out and had direct messaged the Liver King. The cornerback confessed to believing that what the TikTok influencer said would help his wellness plan. He said that he still can't believe that Johnson had him eating raw liver.

"I was going to sit this one out, but… I really DM’d the Liver King a while back and I was a believer. He really had me out here eating liver"
I was going to sit this one out, but… I really DM’d the Liver King a while back and I was a believer. He really had me out here eating liver 😂

While Humphrey didn't say when exactly he followed the Liver King's advice, he did deal with a season-ending pectoral injury last season.

How long has Marlon Humphrey played in the NFL?

After just two full seasons with the Alabama Crimson Tide, cornerback Marlon Humphrey declared for the NFL Draft in 2017. He was seen as a first-round draft pick through the NFL Combine process.

The Baltimore Ravens drafted Humphrey with the 16th overall selection in the first round of the draft. Before training camp, he signed a fully guaranteed four-year contract worth $11.84 million.

In 2020, he signed a five-year contract extension worth $97.5 million. Humphrey has played in 79 games, starting 61. He has recorded 299 combined tackles and 245 solo tackles, 11 interceptions and 12 forced fumbles.

So far this season, Humphrey has two interceptions, a sack, and a forced fumble. Humphrey has been dealing with an ankle injury but has continued to suit up. While eating raw meat may not have helped him, he does have enough talent to succeed.
