NFL trade rumors: Davante Adams wants to reunite with old Packers QB
Davante Adams is hungry for a Super Bowl ring, and in his 11th NFL season, the three-time All-Pro believes that lies away from his current team. As per the latest rumors, the wide receiver wants to reunite with his first quarterback in the NFL, Aaron Rodgers.
Rodgers and Adams enjoyed unprecedented success at the Green Bay Packers for eight seasons. The QB was named the MVP thrice, while the WR led the league in receiving touchdowns twice. They made several deep playoff appearances but could not reach the glory of lifting the Lombardi Trophy.
As per NFL insider Ian Rapoport, Adams is keen on rekindling that partnership and pushing the Las Vegas Raiders to consider the choice. The Raiders are not opposed to trading their star WR to the New York Jets but will be looking out for the organization first and foremost.
Playing with Rodgers might be Adams’ first choice with the upcoming trade; however, he remains open to joining other teams as well. According to the reports, the trade is not imminent, and all parties will be weighing their options. The trade, if it goes down, is expected to happen by next week.
Aaron Rodgers wants to play with Davante Adams
There is no lack of options for Adams, as several NFL franchises would want a quality WR on their roster. However, just like Adams, his former QB also wants to play with him. A month ago, during an interview on "Up & Adams Show" with Kay Adams, the 10-time Pro Bowler made his intentions clear.
“I'd love to play with Davante again,” Rodgers said. “It might be in the 2028 Olympics if they let some of the old guys go out and play. But we'll see. I mean I want him to have great success. And I love him.”
As per reports, Rodgers and Adams have been in constant talks for a possible trade. Apart from that, Rodgers is lobbying behind the scenes for the WR to join his team. The Jets are 2-2 this season and lack potency in their offense, something a receiver like Admas could solve, especially due to his experience of playing with Rodgers.
