NFL Trade Rumors: Jets insider doubles down on Davante Adams update

The question of whether wide receiver Davante Adams will be traded to the New York Jets continues. Since the Jets acquired Adams' former teammate Aaron Rodgers, there has been speculation of a reunion.

Connor Hughes, the New York Jets reporter for SportsNet New York, believes that if and when the Raiders are willing to make a move, Adams will be a member of the Jets in no time. Hughes was asked the question while making an appearance on the "Jets Afterburners Podcast," and he said:

“The minute that the Raiders are willing to trade him, I believe he’ll be a Jet."

The Las Vegas Raiders have made it clear in the last few months that they have no intention of trading their star wide receiver. There is always a chance those sentiments could change, especially by the midseason trade deadline.

Davante Adams comfortable with Raiders but wouldn't mind a reunion with Aaron Rodgers

Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams doesn't have any qualms about his current situation.

In July, he told Shannon Sharpe on the "Club Shay Shay" podcast that if he were to be traded anywhere, he would want it to be to the New York Jets. Adams said he he would welcome a reunion with Rodgers, his former quarterback with the Green Bay Packers.

“Well, I’ll answer it like this: If I’m gonna be reunited with anybody, it would be Aaron — or relocated and be anywhere, it’d be with Aaron,” Adams said. “But that’s not really my — there was a lot of that stuff going on last year in the media and them asking, ‘What are you gonna do about this? Are you thinking about going here?’ And they talk about whatever without me even being involved in it."

Adams also told Sharpe that he never started the rumors that he wanted to be traded. He also said that he had to have some hard conversations with his Raiders teammates to tell them that he wasn't trying to get traded.
