NFL Trade Rumors: Rams make $4,250,000 star available as teams scramble ahead of trade deadline

The LA Rams have made a decision regarding Tre'Davious White's future with the team. It was reported over the weekend that the team had granted White and his agent permission to seek a trade, as he wasn't too happy after falling out of the lineup in the last three games.

Coach Sean McVay confirmed the report on Monday, accepting that White hasn't been in the best situation in Los Angeles. White signed a one-year, $4.25 million contract with the Rams this offseason.

“He’s been such a pro about the way he’s handled obviously a not-ideal situation for him,” McVay said, via the team’s website. “If you guys saw the way he’s practiced, the way that he’s been a pro in every sense of the word, and approaches some things where, he hasn’t been active the last three weeks.
"Guy wants an opportunity to be able to compete, and we love him here. We’d like to be able to keep him here, but if that is something that he and his agent want to be able to explore, we’re obviously respectfully understanding of that. And so the answer is yes, we’ve allowed them to be able to talk to some teams to see if that’s a possibility.”

Tre'Davious White has recorded 12 total tackles and two passes defended in four games this season. McVay changed how he's been handling the secondary, creating issues with White. The NFL trade deadline is eight days away, so White still has time to find a new team that gives him the necessary opportunities to shine.

Sean McVay says he'd be happy to keep Tre'Davious White with Rams

Sean McVay appears to be fond of Tre'Davious White, even though he's not used the cornerback regularly after he started the first four games of the season. That said, McVay hasn't given up on White.

"With respect to Tre's situation, that is something that, we'll give him an opportunity to see if there's a better situation that he deems appropriate for himself," McVay said. "But we love him here, and if he ends up staying here, I'll certainly be happy about that."

The Rams are showing signs of life after a 1-4 start to the season. They beat the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 7 and the Minnesota Vikings in Week 8 to improve to 3-4. Perhaps White will be out soon, but this team is trending in the right direction on both ends of the ball.
