Nikki Glaser says she would "apologize" to Tom Brady's ex-wife Gisele Bundchen for brutal jokes during Netflix roast
Comedian Nikki Glaser achieved massive success in her career following her impressive performance at Tom Brady's Netflix roast. Glaser's roast of the NFL legend also targeted her controversial relationship with his ex-wife, Gisele Bundchen, who has been in the headlines for her relationship with jiu-jitsu teacher Joaquim Valente.
During an exclusive interview with PEOPLE on Monday, Glaser discussed joking about Bundchen during the roast.
"I think that comedy is always going to upset someone," she said. "And I think if I were her, I would've been annoyed too. So I give her that 100%. “And if I ever met her, I would definitely apologize for hurting her feelings if she was indeed upset about it. But I don't mind it. If someone's offended, they're offended.
I am never someone that's like, ‘It's a joke. Get over it.’ I will apologize for jokes I make, because I don't always get it right. And I try to punch up, not punch down and just say what everyone's thinking without really ruining anyone's life or reputation."
Earlier this month, Glaser reflected on her time at Brady's Netflix roast and compared her fame following the event with Taylor Swift.
Nikki Glaser shared how Tom Brady's Netflix roast changed her life
In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE in September, Nikki Glaser talked about the boost her career received following the success of Tom Brady's Netflix roast. Talking about how the event changed her "life forever," the comedian said:
"I did not know the magnitude of it. I knew that it was going to be a big moment of my career, but I didn't know that it would be the linchpin that I'll always reference that point as before and after the roast.
In terms of my career, it feels like it's changed that drastically and I'm glad that I took it as seriously as I did. I didn't know it was going to be such a big deal, but I knew it'd be a big deal, so I just prepared so hard."
Talking about the Netflix roast, there were certain CTE jokes that were so offensive that they had to be removed from the show. Earlier this year, Glasser talked about those jokes and what got them removed from the Netflix roast.
