"Nobody says no to Tom Brady"- NFL analyst believes Aaron Rodgers lacks TB12's charisma
Aaron Rodgers appears to be headed to the New York Jets this offseason. The two sides are expected to reach a deal on a trade once Rodgers makes a decision on what he wants to do this season.
He's expected to appear on the Pat McAfee Show today and could make an announcement.
Jason McIntyre hopped on "The Herd with Colin Cowherd" and the he compared Rodgers' recruiting wishlist to the guys Tom Brady got in Tampa.
McIntyre said:
"Do you remember when Tom Brady left New England? What did he bring to Tampa? As soon as Leonard Fournette was released, 'Hey Leonard, come on down.' As soon as Antonio Brown realized he was coming back to the NFL, Tom Brady who cultivates relationships with stars throughout the league, 'Antonio Brown, hey come here.'
"'Gronk, you're retired, why don't you come baack?' Nobody says no to Tom Brady. All these guys like him, he's very well liked. Relationships matter."
McIntyre added that the guys that Rodgers is recruiting over to New York (Cobb, Lazard, Lewis) aren't stars like the guys Brady brought over to Tampa.
He added:
"So, Aaron Rodgers now is dragging his feet. All reports are trying to get guys to come with him to the Jets. Who's he leaning on, Randall Cobb? That's his guy, that's the relationship he has, Randall Cobb. Tom Brady brings stars to Tampa. Aaron Rodgers brings Randall Cobb to New York and now he's like maybe Allen Lazard. And the other guy he's talking about is Marcedes Lewis."
Rodgers has reportedly given the Jets a wishlist of players he wants them to acquire. Of those players are former Packers Allen Lazard, Marcedes Lewis and Randall Cobb.
The Green Bay Packers are reportedly asking for two first-round picks in return for Aaron Rodgers
According to ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter, the Packers are asking for two first-round picks in return for Rodgers.
Originally, it was thought to be believed that they were just asking for a first-round pick and a conditional second- or third-round pick.
It shouldn't be an issue for the Jets as they seem to be very aggressive in acquiring Rodgers.
He could a make a decision today on what he's going to do and could be a Jet soon.
