"Entire city wants Tebow back" - Noted Republican author highlights just how poor Russell Wilson has been at Broncos

The Denver Broncos were without the services of quarterback Russell Wilson on Sunday, but the result was largely the same. Nick Adams, a best-selling author who has been publicly endorsed by former President Donald Trump, believes the city of Denver would like to move on from their new quarterback already.

Russell Wilson with Denver Broncos: 2-4

Tim Tebow with Denver Broncos: 8-6

I guarantee the entire city of Denver wants Tebow back.

Tim Tebow spent two seasons with the Broncos and went 8-6 in that time as a starter. Thus far, Wilson is 2-4 and the team is 2-5 since signing him. Adams believes that Broncos fans might be wishing they had Tebow back as a result of the stark contrast in those numbers.

"Russell Wilson with Denver Broncos: 2-4. Tim Tebow with Denver Broncos: 8-6. I guarantee the entire city of Denver wants Tebow back," Adams tweeted.

Tebow even won a playoff game during his time with Denver. It's very unlikely that he would consider a return to the NFL, but his starting record does look better than Wilson's does right now.

Was Tim Tebow better than Russell Wilson with the Denver Broncos?

Playing in the NFL in any position for a decade requires a lot of talent. Bad players simply do not get that many opportunities. That is especially true for the most important position on the field, the one that Wilson and Tebow play.

However, it's wrong to simply look at a win/loss record as a means of determining which player is better. Wins and losses are a team stat, and even if the quarterback is the most important part of the team, there are 21 other starters that contribute.

That's not to say that Wilson has been good or even that he's been better than Tebow was. However, one telling stat is how much time they've each spent in the NFL.

Tebow was out of the NFL after just three seasons. Wilson has been playing for over a decade. The Broncos star's time with his new team following his trade from the Seattle Seahawks has been rough. However, it's very unlikely that anyone in the organization is thinking about Tebow.

They may, however, be wondering about Geno Smith, the Seahawks quarterback they didn't trade for who looks like a legitimate Pro Bowl candidate.

Wilson has been a good quarterback for the better part of a decade and is one of the best in the NFL. Despite his poor play so far, the talent he displayed during his time in Seattle is in there somewhere.

Things aren't right in Denver, but it's more complex than the former Seahawk simply being a bad quarterback.
