"It was a turn-on": O.J. Simpson on Taylor Swift and Brittany Mahomes' viral handshake at Chiefs-Chargers

Taylor Swift was in attendance at Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday afternoon to watch Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs take on the Los Angeles Chargers. The CBS broadcast showed Swift in the Chiefs' family suite seated next to Brittany Mahomes. The two celebrated throughout the game. But, it was one celebration that caught everyone's attention.

After the Chiefs scored a touchdown, Taylor Swift and Brittany celebrated with a handshake. Former NFL running back O.J. Simpson discussed this moment on YouTube's "It is What It Is" podcast.

"I didn’t know who the other girl was, but I thought it was interesting," Simpson said. "I was thinking the same thing you was thinking. Their boulders was hitting each other, you know. It was a little bit of a turn-on."[14:50 onwards]

Surprisingly, Simpson was aware of who Taylor Swift was but, didn't know the 'other girl' was Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes' wife, Brittany.

WWE's Austin Theory and Grayson Waller emulated Taylor Swift and Brittany Mahomes' viral handshake

Since going viral, the handshake has made its way to other sports platforms as well. Just hours after Taylor Swift and Brittany Mahomes debuted their celebration, two WWE stars tried their hand at it.

Shortly before entering the ring in Laredo on Sunday night, Austin Theory and Grayson Waller did 'the handshake.' Waller donned a Taylor Swift t-shirt that read, "I'm a Swiftie" on the back.

There is also a backstory to Waller's feelings about the singer and her loyal fan base. The WWE star commented earlier this week about the singer's relationship with Travis Kelce.

While he initially threw support behind them, he then said that he would never settle for a girl who was a "6 out of 10" in terms of looks.

“Hey, good for Trav. Like, I’m not the kind of guy that would settle for a 6, but each to their own. Me personally, I like a bit of spice,” said Waller.

It's possible that Austin Theory and Grayson Waller's recreation of the Swift-Mahomes handshake on the WWE stage was their response to his social media posts. However, there has been no comment from either Swift or Mahomes on this incident.
