Odell Beckham Jr. free agency: NFL insider makes startling revelation regarding odds of Super Bowl-winning wide out finding new team

Recent reports suggest that free agent wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. may not play until the 2023 season. OBJ has been rehabbing his knee since he tore his ACL in February during the Los Angeles Rams' Super Bowl victory over the Cincinnati Bengals.

The Super-Bowl winning wideout was on the verge of signing with a franchise around Thanksgiving. However, he remains a free agent with just weeks left of the regular season. The expectation was that he would be healthy enough to return by the middle of the 2022 season, but this has failed to happen.

Beckham Jr. had visits with the Buffalo Bills, New York Giants, and Dallas Cowboys last week, and the expectation was that he'd sign with one of those teams.

Per Ian Rapoport and NFL.com, there is no timeline for a decision from Beckham. There was no firm answer on what a contract would look like and he did not work out or run routes for teams. He simply does not appear ready to step on the field at the moment.

Odell Beckham Jr.‘s free agency tour generated endless headlines, but little clarity on a timeline for signing, what a contract would look like and whether he’ll play in the 2022 season or postseason at all, sources say.

Odell Beckham Jr. appeared on LeBron James' 'The Shop' and made some interesting comments. Here's what Beckham said:

"I've played football for a long time. I'm not saying I couldn't step in and play (in the) regular season, but I don't see the point. I really don't. I'd rather play when that pressure's on."

As to whether that's what fellow players and franchise owners around the NFL like to hear, well, that's a separate matter.

While many thought Beckham Jr. would play in the 2022-23 season, it seems as though he may not play until the next campaign. ESPN's Ed Werder reported on December 6th that the Dallas Cowboys think Beckham Jr. hasn't fully recovered from his ACL injury. If that's the case, there would be no benefit from signing him now.

Source: The #Cowboys have concerns after Odell Beckham Jr.’s physical that his recovery from torn left ACL in Super Bowl has not progressed enough to ensure he would play before mid-January and possibility exists signing him would have no benefit until 2023 season.

The Cowboys were linked to Beckham heavily as he hung out with defensive stars Micah Parsons and Trevon Diggs last week at a Dallas Mavericks game. As there has been no movement from any team with regards to signing the superstar, it seems OBJ may have to wait until the 2023 campaign.

In his career, Odell Beckham Jr. has recorded 531 receptions for 7,367 receiving yards and 56 touchdowns. We will see if he can add to that tally this season, although recent reports suggest that is highly unlikely.
