Odell Beckham Jr. to Cowboys? Skip Bayless and Shannon Sharpe don't believe team will sign free agent WR

Odell Beckham Jr. is one of the most coveted free agents this season. However, he is still recovering from an ACL injury he suffered in Super Bowl LVI with the LA Rams. A possible destination for the free-agent wide receiver is the Dallas Cowboys.

On a recent episode of "Skip and Shannon: Undisputed," analysts Shannon Sharpe and Skip Bayless debated whether Cowboys owner Jerry Jones would sign the wideout. Sharpe first spoke about Beckham Jr. and the likelihood of him being signed by Jones and the Cowboys:

"Reports say Odell probably won't be ready into early December. My timeline: mid-November; late, late November. And now they're talking about early December. Odell wants a job. Odell wants to make some money, and he wants to go to a team that's contending.
"I believe the Cowboys have the type of team that could contend. As long as the defense plays like they play, the offense can give them a little something bigger. They're going to be right there in the mix. But I just, I just don't see it. I know Jerry used to make splashes."

Bayless then chimed in with his thoughts about the Super Bowl-winning receiver:

"I wouldn't classify myself as a hater. I think he has a big good heart. Sometimes his head doesn't sort of match his heart, but I think he's grown up and I like the way he conducted himself, especially through the playoffs with the Rams. He became a catalyst, not down the stretch of the regular season, but in the playoffs.
"He became a catalyst opposite the best receiver in professional football, the Triple Crown-winning Cooper Kupp. Cooper demanded such attention, especially in big playoff games, that it allowed Odell to just frolic against single coverage. He's still pretty good. I don't think he's really anything near where he used to be."

Should the Dallas Cowboys consider signing Odell Beckham Jr.?

Jones recently spoke highly of the former New York Giants star and the admiration he has for him:

"He made the greatest catch I've seen, other than the one Dez made for the touchdown against Green Bay. Bottom line is, Odell is a player that I admire a lot."

Looking at the roster for the Cowboys, Beckham Jr. could be the second wideout behind CeeDee Lamb. The receivers after Lamb include Michael Gallup, Noah Brown and Jalen Tolbert. With Dak Prescott back under center, another target like Beckham Jr. could elevate the Cowboys, who are currently 27th in passing yards.

The Cowboys are a Super Bowl contender, sitting with a record of 6-2 in second place in the NFC East. With the trade deadline in the rear view mirror, we'll see if Jones goes after Beckham Jr.
