Packers' Josh Jacobs trolls Dolphins as Miami withers under 27-degree Lambeau Field conditions
On Thanksgiving day, the cold proved to be more than just an environmental challenge for the Miami Dolphins as they lost to the Green Bay Packers under 27-degree temperature at Lambeau Field.
And, the Green Bay Packers RB Josh Jacobs wasted no time exploiting that narrative as the Dolphins' struggles in chilly weather resurfaced.
“Them boys looked cold out there,” Jacobs quipped postgame, as shared by NFL Network’s Cameron Wolfe on X.
Yes, the Dolphins lost, but the team's effort was noticeable. Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa accumulated 365 passing yards.
However, Tagovailoa's efforts were outdone by Packers’ Jordan Love, who capitalized on Miami's vulnerabilities by throwing for 274 yards.
On the ground, Packers RB Josh Jacobs contributed 43 rushing yards while the Dolphins' RB3 Raheem Mostert struggled to find traction and could only manage 19 rushing yards.
Additionally, Green Bay Packers' receiving corps turned out to be fatal for the Miami Dolphins. Tight end Jonnu Smith led the team's charge with 113 yards and TE Tucker Kraft followed suit with 78.
On the flip side, the Miami Dolphins faltered badly because of the pressure from the Packers’ offense.
After struggling to put up a fight in adverse conditions, the team now stands at 5–7. Next, they will look to rebound against the New York Jets on December 8 in Week 14.
Miami Dolphins LB Christian Brooks didn’t shy away from holding his own team accountable over cold weather
It was not just Green Bay Packers RB Josh Jacobs who took a jab at the Miami Dolphins for failing to perform in the 27-degree conditions at Lambeau Field.
Dolphins LB Jordyn Brooks didn’t hold back either. As per Chris Perkins of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel, Brooks spoke about his team's seventh consecutive loss in the cold weather.
“I feel like we let the elements control the way that we played,” he admitted. “As a group, I thought we were soft. Simple as that. I don't know if guys were too cold, I don't know what it was, but I feel like the elements played a part in how we played as a group."
While Brooks focused on the cold weather, Dolphins HC Mike McDaniel "didn’t really see that as much of a factor as playing football and technique."
Last year, the Dolphins' season ended after the team lost to the Chiefs while playing at -4 degrees (-20 Celsius). It was the fourth coldest game in the NFL history.
