Packers vs. Eagles week 1 opener in Brazil faces cancellation threat: Report
The Philadelphia Eagles and Green Bay Packers are supposed to make history next week, but that might be shelved if recent reports are any indication.
The top NFC contenders plan to open their season against each other at the Arena Corinthians in Sao Paulo on September 6. However, the city is dealing with massive wildfires that have killed at least two people.
The Brasilia Envorinmental Institute deemed its air quality "very poor" on Sunday. By Wednesday, the situation was better, but only in select areas. Health services in the area also report a drastic increase in people with upper respiratory illness.
What will Eagles, Packers wear to Brazil game?
The Eagles and Packers will wear intriguing uniforms if the Brazil game materializes.
Four and a half months ago, 24/7 Sports' Daire Carragher claimed neither team would be allowed to wear green because it's the primary color of Corinthians' principal rivals Palmeiras. The Eagles are abiding by this request, choosing to pair their white away jersey with a black helmet and pants.
However, the Packers will defy the no-green rule if the game occurs. Green Bay plans to don their usual green-and-gold home uniforms for the occasion.
