Panthers icon recalls Brock Purdy showing off dance moves during Christian McCaffrey and Olivia Culpo's wedding

The list of accolades earned by Brock Purdy in just two NFL seasons is astonishing. The former seventh-round pick took over as the San Francisco 49ers quarterback after injuries to both Trey Lance and Jimmy Garoppolo and never looked back.

Purdy, whose name was never thought of as a superstar during the 2022 NFL Draft, has the full attention of the media as a great quarterback in a short amount of time. But playing quarterback might not be the only thing that he's surprisingly good at: dancing seems to be part of the list as well.

Former NFL superstar linebacker Luke Kuechly, who played his entire career with the Carolina Panthers, is the one who's responsible for the affirmation. Kuechly and Brock Purdy have been teammates with running back Christian McCaffrey, and they were both at McCaffrey's wedding with Olivia Culpo. Speaking on the Up And Adams show, Kuechly spoke glowingly about the 49ers quarterback:

"Ton of fun. I like how he is. I like his energy. We talked to some of the guys about him, like 'What's he like?' They said he's even-keeled. Doesn't get too high. Doesn't get too low. And when you talk about that, you think this guy must be stiff. He might not be any fun. But he's got some subtle sarcasm. He's dry. He's fun to be around. He was on the dance floor having a good time."

McCaffrey played with Kuechly from 2017 to 2019 until after the linebacker retired. He moved from the Panthers to the 49ers in 2022 after a midseason trade.

When will Brock Purdy sign a contract extension with the 49ers?

As part of the 2011 CBA terms which remained for the new 10-year agreement signed in 2020, a team can't sign a drafted player to a contract extension until after three years in the league.

While Brock Purdy will certainly earn a huge amount of money once he signs the paper, neither party can agree to an extension until after the end of this season. It's great news for the 49ers, who can keep their superstar quarterback around for a small amount in the salary cap.
