Panthers LB Jadeveon Clowney raises major complaint against Eagles fans ahead of Week 14 clash
The 3-9 Carolina Panthers will take on the 10-2 Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday. But one player isn't too hyped about it. And it's not because of the formidable Eagles lineup, but because of their fan base.
On Thursday, when asked by a reporter if he was looking forward to the Eagles game, Panthers linebacker Jadeveon Clowney aired a major grievance against Eagles fans. He said that, while they love their team, they are not very kind towards opponent team members.
"They love their team. That's all I can tell you about. They love their team, man. They throw stuff at you, they do everything and they talk the most junk out of any fans I dealt with throughout my career," Clowney told reporters.
Philadelphia is coming off a difficult 24-19 win against the Baltimore Ravens. After they play against the Panthers, they will have to take on the Steelers in the next week, who are the leaders of the AFC North.
The Panthers, on the other hand, are coming off two back-to-back losses against the Kansas City Chiefs and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Not many hope that they will win against the Eagles, who are on an eight-game winning streak and leading the NFC East.
Panthers injury-riddled ahead of Eagles game
LB Jadeveon Clowney was nursing a knee injury and missed practice for the second consecutive day as rest, along with RT Taylor Moton. The other players who missed practice on Thursday included another LB, Josey Jewell, who is nursing a hamstring injury.
That's not all. TE Ja'Tavion Sanders is suffering from a neck injury, while another key LB, D.J. Wonnum, and WR Jalen Coker are recovering from knee and quad injuries, respectively.
Challenges abound for the Panthers, but they're not going to give up hope. Bryce Young is slowly beginning to prove why he was the first overall pick in the 2023 NFL draft. He has been playing good football ever since he clinched his starting role back in Week 8 of the season.
Not only has he thrown one TD pass in each of his previous five games, but he has also not thrown an interception during the last three games.
"Just decisiveness and having a plan," HC Dave Canales said of the young QB on Wednesday. "I love just how decisive and the mechanics of all those things have been."
Will the Panthers snap the Eagles' eight-game winning streak?
