According to ESPN, the 44-year-old was charged with intentional assault causing physical injury, damaging property between $250 and $2,000, and disorderly conduct-disruptive behavior or fighting. The incident occurred on June 1 at 1a.m. in Scottsdale, Arizona.

The two-time Pro Bowler with the Cardinals was promptly arrested at 6:33 a.m. The charges filed against Wilson are all misdemeanors. As per police records, he posted bail on the same day and now has a court hearing scheduled on Tuesday for a virtual case management conference.

Why was Adrian Wilson arrested?

As per the police report obtained by ESPN, Adrian Wilson fought with his wife due to her filing for separation from the former footballer. After learning of this fact, Wilson barged into the room where his wife was sleeping and allegedly tried to choke her. Wilson also threatened to kill himself while holding a gun, as per ESPN.

The police said that three children of Wilson were present in their house during the incident. Wilson eventually drove off carrying the gun with himself. He returned sometime later in the morning hours and was then arrested by the Scottsdale Police Department.
