Pat McAfee was in 'complete pain' before reluctant doctor's visit, claims wife Samantha
Pat McAfee, who had been a tough NFL punter, had a hilarious scare during his visit to the dentist this week. Taking to Instagram, Pat's wife, Samantha, reposted a video, which he initially shared on his Instagram.
In the video, Pat is seen approaching the dentist's clinic and looks evidently apprehensive over the visit.
"Wife is taking me to the dentist right now," he shared with his 2.3 M followers and added, "Got to do it."
Quick to comment on his nerves, Samantha, who was sitting beside him, replied:
“He's been nervous this entire time.”
And, the humor was not lost on Pat. Subtly hinting at his reluctance and the impending pain that awaited him at the clinic, he said:
"We're 10 minutes out with that."
Moments later, Mrs. McAfee reposted the clip on her IG Story and justified how much discomfort Pat had been putting up with.
“Just took him to be in complete pain to get it fixed,” she wrote in the caption.
It looks like Pat McAfee, irrespective of all the tough commentating, is just as human and fearful as any other commoner when facing a dentist. Super relatable!
That said, Mrs. McAfee's statement turned out to be right. Just one hour after posting the first video on Instagram, the former NFL star turned sports analyst followed up with updates, uploading two more pictures and one video.
Pat McAfee shared his experience at the dentist's clinic
In the first picture, the former NFL punter was seen nervously wearing a nitrous oxide mask on his face while reclining in the dental chair.
In the second image, Pat showed the extracted tooth, which was the root cause of his discomfort for the past month-and-a-half.
“This son of a b**** has been quite a problem for the last month and a half or so…,” he captioned the IG Story.
Coming to the video update, Pat narrated how post-extraction, he is unable to contain his relief and the residual numbness.
"Happy to see that Mrs. McAfee is having the time of her life ... I can't feel my face," he said with that typical groggy post-dentist daze.
Explaining his dental work, Pat further added:
"I got a wisdom tooth pulled, and I got a scaling and root cleanse. It feels like I had three nitrous tanks."
However, he was happy with how he handled the pain and continued:
"That was pretty good. I feel like I did good there."
In spite of being addressed with "1,000 shots of Novocaine," Pat proudly ended on a high note, "I'll tell you what — we're back, better than ever, all over."
