Pat McAfee provides major update on Brett Favre's defamation lawsuit against him

Pat McAfee has come under attack from Brett Favre in response to things spoken by the social media influencer. After already speaking about the lawsuit on the Pat McAfee Show, the show host on Friday announced that he has officially taken a position against the charges.

He took to Twitter to take advantage of the extra space the social media company now allows.

Hello beautiful people..

As of a few moments ago, I have filed for the dismissal of Brett Favre’s defamation lawsuit against me in a Federal Court in the fine state of Mississippi.

I very much understand that next to nobody on earth wants to hear more about this type of… twitter.com/i/web/status/1… https://t.co/3z0NlvWqwC

Here's a look at the highlights of the lengthy statement:

"I have filed for the dismissal of Brett Favre’s defamation lawsuit against me in a Federal Court in the fine state of Mississippi. From the very beginning I thought the lawsuit against me was a joke. A fugaze. A rib. Today makes it all feel like there has been a true glitch in the simulation."

Pat McAfee continued, calling for the former quarterback to donate to a foundation instead of spending money on a lawsuit:

"Brett, match me with a donation to a Big Brothers Big Sisters foundation in Mississippi. Let’s help out the next generation of Mississippians together. Let’s give some support to the citizens of your state who might need it a little bit, and let’s make something positive out of this sad clown show of a defamation suit with no merit."

Lastly, he expressed the toll that the ordeal has already taken on him;

"I appreciate everybody’s support thru all of this. It has been a bit stressful for me, my pregnant wife, my employees, and their families. We are all very eager for this chapter to be done with."

The former Colts punter has had quite a month. Earlier this March, the show host had about half a million people tune in live to see his interview with Aaron Rodgers. In the interview, it was revealed that the quarterback had intentions to play for the New York Jets.

While he saw his career boom from the interview, he also caught the ire of another Packers quarterback. Brett Favre, who allegedly took part in a scheme to use public funds to unlawfully fund a volleyball court, saw his reputation take a big hit.

The former quarterback has become the butt of numerous jokes on social media. Some believe the actions of the former quarterback taken against Pat McAfee were made to attempt to set an example for those calling out the quarterback.
