Pat McAfee "unable to stand" after Concafa SC's game against JJ Watt's Burnley FC

On Thursday, former NFL players Pat McAfee and JJ Watt faced off against each other in a friendly soccer match. Both were part of the TST 7-on-7 soccer tournament in Cary, North Carolina.

McAfee, who plays forward for Concafa SC, may have gone too hard in the game, potentially overworking his body. He provided an update saying he won't be able to play in Friday's 'Win or Go Home' Game at 9 p.m. EST. McAfee suffered a hip flexor strain/tear in Thursday's game when he attempted a free kick.

"BREAKING: Source(s) close to the situation are saying that Pat McAfee will be OUT tonight for CONCAFA SC’s Win or Go Home game at 9PM as he is dealing with a Hip Flexor Strain/Full fucking tear that happened midstroke of his free kick against @JJWatt’s Burnley FC team that missed the net by 40-50 yards," McAfee tweeted.
"The source would go on to say “Pat was unable to stand up from the toilet this morning without some rather excruciating pain.. He also had a very pronounced limp while heading into brunch with the boys this morning.”
“This is what 37 years old looks like for a guy who hasn’t run in a few decades” was the closing comment … I will keep yinz updated with any more news that I hear."

Pat McAfee, known for his electric, crude, blunt and funny personality, is always in the news.

Earlier this week, he commented on Indiana Fever WNBA star Caitlin Clark because of which he is under fire.

During a segment of his show, the "Pat McAfee Show," McAfee referred to Clark as a "white bi**h," which a lot of people didn't like. A feminist group is even calling for McAfee to be fired from ESPN.

After receiving criticism, McAfee apologized during Tuesday's show.

He noted in his apology that he reached out to the Fever public relations team to apologize to Clark. He said that he heard from the team that Clark said it was "all good," signaling that there is no beef between the two.

McAfee signed a lucrative five-year, $85 million contract with ESPN in May 2023.
