Patrick Mahomes' father pens 4-word message as Chiefs QB braces for Josh Allen challenge in AFC title game

It's officially championship Sunday in the NFL which means two teams are one step away from beginning preparations for the 2025 Super Bowl in New Orleans. Championship Sunday will kick off with the Washington Commanders taking on the Philadelphia Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field at 3 p.m. EST followed by Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs hosting Josh Allen's Buffalo Bills at Arrowhead Stadium.

With the game just hours away, Mahomes' father Pat Mahomes Sr. took to X to pump up the fans, posting a picture with his son.

"Feeling this energy today!!" Mahomes Sr. tweeted.

The snap is from the Chiefs' win over the Baltimore Ravens last year in the AFC championship game.

Where Patrick Mahomes' Chiefs stand heading into AFC title game vs Bills

The last time the Bills and Chiefs met, things didn't go well for Kansas City. In the November game, Buffalo came out on top 30-21 in what was the Chiefs' first loss of the season.

"It's a great game to learn from for some of our young guys," Kansas City coach Andy Reid said after the game. "When two good teams play each other, the margin between winning and losing is small. That starts with me, and we can all learn from it and take something out of this. It will make us better down the road."

However, it's important to note that the Chiefs were shorthanded in the Week 11 loss as Isiah Pacheco, Hollywood Brown, Charles Omenihu and Jaylen Watson were all injured. Kansas City is nearly at full strength on Sunday.

Omenihu and Watson will likely have a major impact given how disciplined the Chiefs' defense has been under Steve Spagnuolo.

The Bills vs Chiefs game will kick off at 6:30 p.m. EST. The game will be broadcast on CBS, although fans can also catch the live stream on Paramount+.
