Patrick Mahomes has 'heightened' home security after burglary at KC home: Report

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes fell victim to a home burglary. The news of the three-time Super Bowl champion's estate being burglarized was released earlier this week, with the crime dating back to early October 2024.

TMZ Sports reported that Mahomes has "heightened" security around his mansion, which is located in Belton, Missouri. The gated community in which the eight-acre home is located has also increased its security to ensure that all of its residents are safe moving forward.

The burglary reportedly took place around midnight on October 6, 2024, less than two days before the Monday Night Football matchup against the New Orleans Saints. It's unclear if Mahomes or any of his family members were home at the time of the burglary.

There haven't been any reports of if and what was taken from Patrick Mahomes' house, but the FBI is involved in the investigation. On Wednesday, while speaking to the media, the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback described the burglary as "disappointing" and "frustrating," saying:

"Obviously something that you don’t want to have happen to really anybody, but obviously yourself."

Patrick Mahomes and his wife Brittany purchased the land in 2020, and after building their dream home, they moved in 2023, which was documented during Netflix's "Quarterback."

Patrick Mahomes' teammate Travis Kelce's home also burglarized

Patrick Mahomes wasn't the only Kansas City Chiefs star who fell victim to burglary. Tight end Travis Kelce's home, located in Leawood, Kansas, was also burglarized two days after Mahomes.

The break-in reportedly took place during the Chiefs' "Monday Night Football" game. His parents, brother Jason Kelce, and girlfriend Taylor Swift were all in attendance cheering him on.

According to a police report, the thieves stole $20,000 in cash from Travis Kelce's residence after entering from the back door. The tight end purchased the home in a gated community last year to get more privacy after his relationship with Taylor Swift became public.

Police are investigating both burglaries, as they believe both could be part of a larger crime spree taking place in the surrounding Kansas City area.
