Patrick Mahomes injury update: Chiefs QB won't be at 100% vs Eagles at Super Bowl LVII

Chiefs fans look away. There's a reason if you don't get to see the Kansas City Chiefs talisman at his best during Super Bowl LVII. NFL insider James Palmer revealed that the quarterback is not at 100% due to a lingering ankle issue.

Patrick Mahomes won’t be 100% tonight. He has had two weeks of rehab to get healthier and also he’s had two weeks to continue to learn how to manipulate his body to play around the injury. Mahomes suffered the injury during his team's playoff win against the Jacksonville Jaguars in the Divisional Round. Just three weeks removed from suffering a high ankle sprain during the game, Chiefs owner Clark Hunt also said that he doubts the quarterback will be at his best when taking on the Eagles.

All eyes will certainly be on his ankle every time the Philadelphia Eagles defense manages to the better of the Chiefs' offensive line at Super Bowl LVII.

If Mahomes is to go down again, the Chiefs will have to turn to backup QB Chad Henne to guide them to a Nick Foles-esque charge to the Super Bowl.
