Patrick Mahomes' mom Randi helps raise $760,500 for charity at Celebrity Softball Classic game in Texas
Only few moms know better than Randi Mahomes, the impact sports could have on a child's future and how it has the potential to turn around the fortunes of a family for generations.
However, she is always open to giving back to society and helping people who are not as fortunate as her when it comes to financial resources. Recently, she was part of the Celebrity Softball Classics program fundraiser and collected $760,500 for 17 charities.
Devin Hutchinson, who was part of the fundraiser, took to Instagram to share pictures from the event. In the second picture, Randi Mahomes can be seen posing with Devin and another woman.
The post was captioned,
"17 Charities over 760,500 Raised, another amazing year in the books @celebritysoftballclassictexas"
She was part of the team "Helping a Hero", who donned white uniforms, while the other team was "Back Home Patriots" who donned blue threads.
The other celebrities who were also part of the fundraising event included Ryan Griffis, Wes Harris, and Denver Bush. In one of the earlier stories, she shared a picture of other participants from the fundraiser. The story was captioned:
"Last Names Matter"
Her son, Patrick Mahomes, is also not far behind when it comes to charity. He has his own foundation, 15 and the Mahomies, which helps children and focuses on their health, and wellness. The foundation had raised more than $600,000 which it then distributed to underprivileged children.
Randi Mahomes has been a strong pillar of support for the her children, especially with Patrick's grueling schedule and Jackson's trial earlier this year. But of late, she has to go through her own set of struggles.
Randi Mahomes watches son's game from hospital
Patrick Mahomes' mom is going through hard times of her own as she's taken on the extra role of caregiver to her father. When the Kansas City Chiefs defeated the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 4, Randi, unfortunately, could not be there in the stadium to root for her son.
Instead, she was at a hospital along with her daughter, Mia Mahomes, taking care of her ailing father, Randy Martin. She had posted a picture from the hospital with the caption:
"Watching game with daddy today… prayers please for my dad," Randi Mahomes wrote in her caption."
She requested fans to come together to pray for her father so that he might make a full recovery from whatever is ailing him.
The Chiefs have a bye this week, and the entire family will be hoping to reconnect before the season resumes for Patrick Mahomes.
