Patrick Mahomes stands up for Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce against 'distraction' claims
Despite Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's relationship helping the NFL make $4 million/night last season, the "Blank Space" singer was often labeled as a distraction for the Chiefs. However, Kelce's teammate Patrick Mahomes feels otherwise.
Mahomes dismissed the idea of Taylor Swift being a distraction for the franchise in the trailer for Season 19 of the America's Game docuseries.
The Chiefs quarterback said:
"People act like it was a distraction, I was like, 'No, this is just Travis, Man!'"
Taylor Swift was repeatedly shown on television during the Kansas City Chiefs games as the camera panned to her after almost every play featuring her boyfriend.
On Wednesday, ESPN host Holly Rowe fired shots at critics trolling Swift for NFL coverage, highlighting her positive influence on the sport.
"She brought a lot of friends and family to those football games that maybe wouldn’t have come before," Rowe said. "As a football person, I’m like, ‘The more, the merrier’. Keep bringing ‘em because we want to get as many women loving and involved in football as possible."
Patrick Mahomes says there is Taylor Swift's hand behind Travis Kelce's viral hairstyle
Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce took the internet by storm with his new hairstyle earlier this month. In an interview with SiriusXM, Mahomes said that Kelce's motivation behind the new look is Taylor Swift.
“I've been trying to get him to grow his hair out, and all of a sudden, Taylor gets him to do it."
Travis Kelce's new look consisted of a buzz cut and a mustache. In the latest episode of the New Heights podcast, the tight end revealed Andy Reid being the inspiration behind the mustache.
As for the buzz cut, Kelce emphasized that he didn't care about the choice of his hairstyle much during training.
