Patrick Mahomes' wife Brittany has 3-word reaction to Chiefs' stunning last-second field goal block to remain unbeaten
Patrick Mahomes' wife Brittany Mahomes kind of summed up every Kansas City Chiefs fan's emotions to the incredible ending of their matchup against Denver. The pregnant mom of two captured her reaction alongside daughter Sterling as they witnessed Denver's blocked field goal attempt, which preserved the Chiefs' perfect season.
"I mean WUTTTT," Mahomes said on Instagram.
The dramatic finish at Arrowhead Stadium saw Chiefs defensive end Mike Danna get his hand on Wil Lutz's 35-yard field goal attempt as time expired, securing a nail-biting 16-14 victory. The block came after Broncos quarterback Bo Nix had engineered a late fourth-quarter drive to the Kansas City 17-yard line, setting up what should have been a straightforward game-winning kick.
"It just speaks to this entire team," Patrick Mahomes told reporters after the game. "I felt offensively we didn't do enough. Defensively we stepped it up in the second half, and then special teams -- we're a full team. Everybody believes, no one has any doubts, we just keep pushing and we found a way in the end."
The finish capped off another family game day for the Mahomes clan. Brittany Mahomes attended with both Sterling, 3, and son Patrick "Bronze" Lavon III, 23 months. Brittany shared pre-game moments on Instagram, including a touching photo of Bronze resting his hand on her baby bump while catching a quick nap on her shoulder.
Brittany Mahomes' gameday support for Patrick Mahomes
Kansas City Current co-owner Brittany Mahomes has made Chiefs games a family tradition, turning their stadium suite into a second home. She regularly brings Sterling and Bronze to support their dad, documenting moments from the sidelines. "My heart," she captioned one pre-game image of Bronze, while Sterling sported her signature Chiefs-yellow ear protection headphones.
The family's dedication extends beyond game days. In July, they visited Patrick Mahomes at training camp at Missouri Western State University, with Brittany Mahomes sharing that the kids:
"Wanted to go play with dad the entire time."
That spirit was evident Sunday as Travis Kelce collected eight catches for 64 yards and a touchdown, while the Chief's defense held strong against Denver's offensive push.
With the win, Kansas City matched their best season opening in franchise history, becoming just the fifth team to begin 9-0 after winning a Super Bowl. Their 15-game winning streak, dating back to last season, stands as the NFL's longest since Green Bay's 19-game run in 2010-11.
