Patrick Mahomes and Brittany Mahomes prepare for baby number 2
Star quarterback Patrick Mahomes and his wife Brittany Mahomes are expecting their second child, who is due in early 2023. The couple, who also have a 20-month-old daughter, is preparing for a baby boy. Of course, pregnancy is not easy, and Mrs. Mahomes took to Twitter to express her current mood about the ordeal.
Although she expressed some humor about the struggles of pregnancy, Brittany and her husband Patrick Mahomes were able to take some time to relax while the quarterback and the Kansas City Chiefs recently had a bye week. Brittany and Patrick also shared their brief babymoon on Instagram.
According to the posts, the family appeared to take their trip to the beach for the last time as “a family of three.” The high school sweethearts tied the knot last March and shortly thereafter announced that they were expecting baby number two.
Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs set sights on the playoffs
The Kansas City Chiefs currently sit atop the AFC with a 7-2 record and are in control of their playoff seeding given the recent struggles of the Buffalo Bills. Although the offense lost star receiver Tyreek Hill in the offseason, free agent signings and the current roster have been able to adjust to life without Hill.
JuJu Smith-Schuster, the free agent signing from the Pittsburgh Steelers, has had a recent string of exceptional games but will miss some time due to a concussion. Despite his importance in the offense, the Chiefs' passing attack should be able to continue with their latest trade acquisition, Kadarius Toney. Toney was acquired from the New York Giants at the trade deadline.
In the AFC, the Chiefs will be trying to hold off the 7-3 Miami Dolphins and four teams that are 6-3. The four include the Baltimore Ravens, Tennessee Titans, New York Jets, and the Buffalo Bills.
The Chiefs face a manageable rest-of-season schedule that includes the Los Angeles Chargers, Cincinnati Bengals, and Seattle Seahawks. Additionally, the Chiefs will also face division rivals the Denver Broncos twice before the regular season concludes.
If Patrick Mahomes hopes to ring in the new year with his new son in style, the Kansas City Chiefs certainly have a path back to the Super Bowl.
