Patrick Mahomes' wife Brittany reveals gym struggles with pregnancy
Brittany Mahomes took to Instagram on Nov 8 to post a story about her pregnancy. In the clip, she was seen working out in the gym in a violet-hued gym suit. Her message read:
“Step Ups - That one exercise that kills me the more pregnant I get.”
She was seen holding on to an iron pillar, with her right hand resting on her back and her right leg on a base.
The Mahomes family is expecting their third child soon, set to become a family of five with their son, Bronze, and daughter, Sterling.
Brittany Mahomes tackles pregnancy challenges
The step-up exercise performed by Brittany is considered a safe, low-impact workout for women during pregnancy. It helps maintain balance, stability, and posture while strengthening the legs and glutes.
It is joint-friendly and helps prepare women for labor, which explains why Brittany prefers doing it despite the pain. On her Whoop podcast on August 28, she said:
“I obviously worked out my whole life, so I had kids, and then I’m like, ‘Oh, I’ll just keep working out how I’ve always worked out; I’m fine.”
However, she hurt her back and underwent therapy. She later visited a chiropractor to help with her pelvic region.
The former soccer player is also the co-owner of Kansas City Current and a fitness entrepreneur.
The 29-year-old announced her third pregnancy through an Instagram post on July 12 that said, “Round three, here we come.”
Later, on July 19, the couple revealed that they were expecting a girl. A few days later, she posted another picture on Instagram, calling this her hardest pregnancy:
“Good morning, just me and my skin that's losing its mind…” she wrote. “This pregnancy has been the hardest on me... sickness, exhaustion, and now skin!” But Brittany is following a skincare routine to keep herself in check.
Another major issue she has pointed out is the “Mom b**t,” but Brittany suggests that doing some glute kick stretches can help fix the issue.
